Graveyard Keeper – Walkthrough – Part 9 – The Zombie Revolution and the Golden Kitchen

This episode is all about Automation. You will learn how to create Zombies from scratch to put them to work in the quarry, mine, and forest, guaranteeing infinite resources without lifting a finger.

Summary

We will also focus on two crucial goals to advance the story: completing the delivery of five Golden Quality Dinners for the Merchant and delivering the ten Golden Quality Beers and five Hamburgers for the Inquisitor, securing a large amount of Silver coins.

Step-by-Step

Phase 1: Setting Up the Zombie Kit (Zombie Juice)

The first step is ensuring you can craft Zombie Juice to resurrect corpses.

  1. Unlock and build the Alchemy Mill in your basement.
  2. Study Crop Waste (the remnants of crops) at the Science Bench to obtain Science points.
  3. Use the Alchemy Mill to turn Crop Waste into Life Powder.
  4. Go to the Alchemy Workbench and combine Life Powder + Blood (extracted from corpses) to craft Zombie Juice.

Phase 2: Morgue Upgrades and Zombie Creation

Before resurrection, you need to ensure the body has maximum white skull quality and that your surgery won’t fail.

  1. For your initial zombies, look for bodies with 4-5 white skulls. Extract Blood and Fat from the body to instantly increase the quality (up to six white skulls is great).
Tip: The body must be fresh! If the bar is yellowed, it might decay too fast.
  2. Unlock the “Second Chance” technology (Resurrection Table) in the Anatomy & Alchemy tree. Build the Resurrection Table in the morgue.
  3. Place the fresh body on the table and combine Zombie Juice + 10 Faith to resurrect it.
  4. Put your first working zombie at the Woodcutter’s Camp for automated wood production and transport.
  5. Definitive Upgrade (Surgical Safety): Unlock “Delicate Butcher” and “Anatomy II” for the Preparation Spot II. Build the Preparation Spot II and demolish the old table.
Result: Combining the skill and the new table, you will never have an error when extracting Bones, Skin, Blood, Fat, and Skull. Only Heart, Brain, and Intestines remain random.
  6. Secret Tip (Save Scumming): If you are going to risk removing the Heart, Brain, or Intestines to improve the body’s quality, save the game first! Just interact with the bed and “wake up” immediately. If a surgical error occurs and quality drops, return to the Main Menu and reload the save. Repeat until successful or discard that organ, as these three organs have randomized outcomes.
  7. Unlock and build the Refrigerated Pallet. It prevents the body from decaying permanently while stored there.

Phase 3: Automating the Quarry (Infinite Resources)

Put your Zombies to work to ensure an eternal supply of Stone and Iron.

  1. Unlock “Zombie Ore Mining” and “Zombie Stone Quarry” in the technology tree.
  2. Build the Zombie Quarry and Zombie Ore Mine.
  3. Zombie Distribution: assign one Zombie to the Quarry, one to the Ore Mine, and a third to your Stone Cutter II.
  4. At the Stone Cutter II, set the Zombie to produce Stone Chunks and Iron Ingots and set the mode to “Infinite”. This Zombie will automatically process the material dropped by the other two Zombies into the nearby stockpiles.

Phase 4: Golden Quality Cooking Quests

Time to get cooking!

  1. Merchant’s Dinner (5 Golden Quality Dinners): To guarantee Golden Quality (100%), use the combination: Onion Rings + Pumpkin Soup + Cake.
Tip: You can buy 5 Golden Quality Onion Rings from Manuel at the Tavern, if you’ve unlocked his Level 3 trading perk.
Pumpkin Soup requires Golden Pumpkin, Beet, and Carrot (you should have the recipe from the Witch).
Combine the three Golden Quality dishes at the Kitchen Workbench to make the Dinner, then deliver the 5 Dinners to the Merchant.
  2. Inquisitor (10 Golden Quality Beers and 5 Hamburgers): Unlock and build the Fermentation Brazier. Golden Quality Beer requires Water + Wheat + Golden Quality Hops.
The Golden Hamburger requires Bread + Cooked Meat + Golden Onion. Cooked Meat is made from Sliced Raw Meat taken from corpses.
Deliver the items to the Altar of Offerings.
  3. Crucial Decision: After the first delivery, do not talk to the Inquisitor to receive the next mission. Instead, keep crafting and delivering the items to the altar for two more weeks (three times in total) to earn 33 Silver Coins each time. Only then should you advance his quest.

Useful Tips

  • Money Farm (Secret Tip): Keep mining the Iron Stones in the Quarry. They can drop Silver Nuggets. Turn the nuggets into Silver Ingots and sell 3-4 at a time to the Merchant on each of his visits. This is the fastest way to amass money right now!
  • Amulet of Commerce: If you’ve reached a high trading level with characters, you no longer need to use the Amulet of Commerce/Trade.
  • Quarry: When mining, there is a chance to get Silver and Gold nuggets, which are essential for making money.

What Comes Next in Part 10

With the money you have accumulated by selling Silver Ingots and completing the Inquisitor’s and Merchant’s deliveries, the next part will focus on obtaining the item needed for the Rat, the Rat’s Sword. You will also advance the Merchant’s mission and, if you’re interested, start learning the Embalming technique for even higher quality Zombies.
