Step-by-Step
Let’s get this ball rolling and turn our graveyard into a political powerhouse!
Phase 1: Inquisitor’s Feast & Unlocking the Mill
The first set of tasks focuses on delivery and preparation, leading to the major church upgrade.
- Build the Inquisitor’s Stall: Head to the Hill of Witches and build the Inquisitor’s Stall. This requires Rope, Wood Planks, and Nails.
- New Feast Quest: Talk to the Inquisitor. He now requires Gold Star Quality Beer and Gold Star Quality Burgers for his next event.
- Acquire Ingredients: You need Gold Star Onions and Gold Star Hops.
Buy Silver Star Onions and Pumpkins from the Farmer near the mill. You will need to use your Tier 3 Fertilizer to guarantee Gold Star quality for the final harvest.
Buy Gold Star Hops from the Miller. To unlock the Gold Star items, you must reach Level 3 Friendship with him. - Boost the Miller’s Friendship: Use a Trade Blessing Certificate (obtained from preaching the Commercial Blessing sermon) on the Miller to instantly boost his relationship to Level 3. Then, buy the Gold Star Hops.
Phase 2: Church Expansion and The Cathedral Quest
It’s time to expand the church and start preparing for the ultimate endgame building.
- Expand the Church (Great Church): Pay the Bishop 20 Silver Coins for the Construction Permit. The church will instantly expand.
- Become a Citizen: Buy the Legitimate Citizen Documents for 3 Silver Coins from the desk in the church and give them to the Bishop.
- The Cathedral Quest: The Bishop now has a massive new request: he wants you to build a Cathedral outside the village. This requires achieving +50 Church Quality and +200 Cemetery Quality. This is your next major objective.
Phase 3: Rat’s Ritual and Skeleton Decorating
Fulfilling the Rat’s grim demands is essential for unlocking the highly valuable Infinite Notebook item later.
- Unlock Stone Crafting: Unlock Stone Inscription technology to access the Polished Stone Brick recipe.
- Build Stone Cutter II: Build the Stone Cutter II to efficiently craft higher-tier stone items.
- Craft the Decorations: Use Iron Chisels (crafted at the Carpenter’s Bench) to create the Polished Stone Bricks. You also need to craft Polishing Paste and Stone Repair Kits.
- Install Decorations: Install all 24 required Skeleton and Skull Decorations in the Rat’s underground room.
- Activate the Fountain: Pour Blood (collected from corpses) into the Blood Fountain to activate it.
- Next Step: The Rat is pleased but now demands the Sword of Damocles.
Phase 4: Money-Making and Family Drama
With the Rat’s area set up, you can now focus on the two main activities: making money and advancing the Astrologer’s story.
- Unlock Silver Smelting: Unlock the Precious Metals, Iron Smelting, and Jeweler technologies and upgrade your Furnace to Level III.
- Smelt Silver Ingots: Process your Silver Nuggets (found in the Quarry and Dungeon) into Silver Ingots.
- The Gold Star Delivery: After the Astrologer gives you the Calculation Paper (as a reward for helping his daughter), use it and your parts to fix the Mill.
- Alissa’s Documents: Talk to the Farmer to receive the documents for Alissa, allowing her to join the Charmer’s show.
- The Final Roadblock: Deliver Alissa’s documents to the Charmer. She reveals the papers need to be notarized with an Aristocrat’s Seal, which costs 12 Gold Coins to buy at the church desk. This is the expensive final step of this questline.
Useful Tips
- The Best Grind: The new Silver Ingot strategy is your best way to earn money right now. Prioritize mining Silver Nuggets in the quarry and dungeon.
- Offer and Demand: When selling Silver Ingots to the Merchant, sell them in small batches of 2-3 ingots at a time. Selling more at once will drastically lower the price, costing you thousands of money over time.
- The Chisel Trick: When crafting the Polished Stone Bricks for the Rat, use the Iron Chisel method and keep two chisels in a nearby Chest. This allows you to craft quickly and automatically, saving you hours of time versus the other methods.
- The Sword of Damocles Cheat: The Rat requires the Sword of Damocles (costing 1 Gold 50 Silver). Buy or craft it, but do not give it to him immediately. Use it to explore the Dungeon down to the 10th floor first, as it’s the best weapon you will have access to for a long time.
What Comes Next in Part 9
Next up, the major story quests that were unblocked this part will require final deliveries and purchases! The focus will be on:
- Delivering the Gold Star Feast: We’ll finally deliver the Gold Star Beer and Burgers to the Inquisitor to continue his quest line.
- The Aristocrat’s Seal: The focus will shift to farming the required 12 Gold Coins needed to buy the Aristocrat’s Seal and complete the Charmer’s final request.
- Cathedral Prep: We’ll start the long and necessary grind of upgrading decorations in the Great Church (using Silk from the Merchant) and the Cemetery to reach the Bishop’s +50 Church and +200 Cemetery requirements.
