Step-by-Step
Phase 1: The Sword and the Mountain Fort
The first goal is the Damascene Sword, the best weapon in the game.
- You can craft it via the Blacksmithing technology, but it requires expensive materials, including jewelry.
- Strategy: The fastest and easiest approach is to buy the sword for 1 Gold and 50 Silver. Go to the Lighthouse and follow the path to the Gypsy Baron. Continue straight, past the camp, to the end, where you will find a Guard. Ask him about Cefos — he will inform you that Cefos is in the West Forest at night.
- Secret Encounter: Sleep and go to the West Forest (near the Mountain Fort) at night. Speak with Cefos. He is a vendor and has the Damascene Sword in stock.
- Tip: Buy the sword and equip it immediately. If you have the money, buy two: one for yourself and one for the Rat (or buy the second one later).
Phase 2: Dungeon Preparation (Levels 1–10)
Before delivering the sword to the Rat, make the most of it.
- Unlock Steel Armor and the Sword Master ability (extra blade damage) in the Blacksmithing technology tree.
- Craft or buy the Steel Armor and equip it.
- Clear Dungeon levels 1 through 10. Use the Damascene Sword to speed up the process.
- Loot Tip: Grab Diamond Ore, Gold, and Silver Nuggets. Drop items that are easy to obtain (nails, wood, scrap) and save monster drops (dust, jelly, extracts).
- Milestone: Reach the sealed gate at Level 10. The game will inform you that you need a key and must talk to the Rat.
Phase 3: The Rat’s Hoax and the Vampire Hunter
It’s time to advance the Rat’s mission, which involves giving him the sword.
- On the Rat’s day, go to the Church and deliver the Damascene Sword.
- Cutscene: You will participate in an enactment where the Rat pretends to kill and resurrect you to impress his followers (for lore purposes, you don’t actually die).
- Next Mission: Sleep. The next morning, the Rat appears and informs you that a Vampire Hunter is coming. You need to set a trap. Take a Wooden Plank and meet the Rat at Witch Hill (right of the Cemetery road).
- After waiting with the Rat, the Vampire Hunter arrives — actually Geralt (a The Witcher reference). You defeat him easily.
- Essential Loot: Take Geralt’s body to your autopsy table and extract the Dark Brain and the Dark Heart.

- New Recipe: Talk to Manuel’s wife at the Dead Horse Tavern and buy the Confectionery Recipe (Muffin).
- Honey Farm: Unlock Bee Domestication and Beekeeping (Agriculture and Nature technology). Build Apiaries near where you collect honey. You can buy bees from the Village Honey Shop if you don’t want to farm them.
- Fruit Farm: Unlock Place for Apple Tree and Berry Bush (Agriculture and Nature technology). Buy the seedlings from the Witch and plant them for infinite Berries and Apples for Cakes.
- Zombie Farm (Optional, but Powerful): Unlock Zombie Gardening (Agriculture and Nature technology). Build the Zombie Farm plot and upgrade it to Level 3 (Gold quality). For Level 3, you need Gold Quality Fertilizer.
Gold Fertilizer Recipe: Create the Flavor Enhancer (Life Extract + Toxic Solution + Ash). Life Extract comes from Larva in the Distillation Cube. Toxic Solution comes from Red Mushroom in the Hand Mixer. Finally, combine Flavor Enhancer + Ash on the Alchemy Workbench I.
Tip: Although Gold Fertilizer is complicated to make, you only need it for the Zombie Farm upgrade. If you plant manually, the Silver one is easier and already guarantees Gold harvests. - Assign a high-quality Zombie Farmer (preferably 15%+) to your Level 3 farm for automatic production.
Phase 6: The Gold Combined Prayer (Supreme Prayer)
We have arrived at the best prayer in the game, which simultaneously provides the largest amount of Faith and Money.
- Unlock the Combined Prayer in the Church and Souls technology tree.
- Gold Hardcover: Buy the Silver Hardcover from the Astrologer. Craft or buy 2x Gold Jeweler’s Details (the Merchant sells them, which is faster). Combine the Silver Hardcover + Jewelry to make the Gold Hardcover.
- Gold Chapter: Unlock the Writer and Dramaturge abilities (Writing technology). Use 3x Gold Story to create 3x Gold Note (100% chance with the perks). Then create the Gold Chapter.
- Book/Prayer Creation (High Risk): Combine Gold Hardcover + Gold Chapter to make the Gold Book (50% chance). Save the game before trying — if it fails and gives Silver, restart and try again.
Then combine the Gold Book + Faith to create the Gold Combined Prayer (80% chance). Save the game again before this step — even 80% can fail!
Useful Tips
- Prioritize Jewelry: The fastest way to obtain the Gold Jeweler’s Details is by buying them from the Merchant. The time you spend unlocking and crafting the jewelry bench is better spent making money.
- Two Swords: The best strategy is to have two Damascene Swords — the first for the dungeon grind and the second to deliver to the Rat (or just buy the second from Cefos after the ritual).
- Saving the Prayer: Save the game before trying to create the Gold Book and before creating the Prayer itself. Use the “Progress Recorded” milestone that appears when you sleep.
- Food (Muffin > Bread): With automated Honey and Fruit production, the Muffin is the best source of passive energy, restoring 24 energy — much more than simple bread.
