Step-by-Step
Grab your shovel, there’s a lot to do!
Phase 1: The Astrologer, the Necronomicon, and the Gypsy Baron
- Astrologer’s Secrets (Purple Day)
- Action: Deliver the Restoration Tools you got from the Rat.
- Milestone: The Astrologer reveals that the three final endgame items (Collar, Gold Angle, Infinite Notebook) are connected to the Rat and the Lighthouse Keeper.
- New Quest (The Family): He tasks you with finding out what happened to Esmeralda, the mother of his child.
- Finding the Gypsy Baron
- Strategy: The Astrologer points you towards the Gypsy camp located North of the Village near the Mountain Fort.
- Location: Exit your farm towards the village, and instead of going to the village, go north up the road past the Farmer’s chicken coop.
- Checkpoint: Speak to the Gypsy Baron.
- New Quest (Inquisitor Tie-in): He refuses to talk about Esmeralda until you ask the Inquisitor to free one of his captured people. (Guess what? You’ll need wine for the Inquisitor, which is a quest for Part 7!)
- The Lighthouse Keeper (Fisherman)
- Location: Find the Lighthouse Keeper (a new NPC) who appears by the Lighthouse during the day.
- Necronomicon Trade: The Astrologer gave his forbidden book to the Keeper. Trade the Keeper 5 Larvae (found in your Compost Pile/Turf section) for the Necronomicon.
- Fishing Rod Quest: The Keeper will give you the Simple Fishing Rod if you bring him 6 Moths.
Phase 2: Blue Point & Alchemy Setup
The Merchant’s quest for Spices is the ultimate goal of this part, but it requires a huge investment in technology.
- The Blue Point Investment
- Technology: Unlock the following (requires approximately 100 Blue Points): Glass, Glassblower, Glassblower II (Advanced Conical Flasks), Advanced Smelting (Furnace II).
- Farming BPs: Go to your Study Table (Church Cellar). Use Faith and Science to study a high-value organ, like the Intestines (they grant +50 BPs).
- Farming Red Points (The Quarry Workbench)
- You’ll need Red Points to unlock the Glassblower II tech.
- Strategy: Go to the quarry area (far East). Build a Stone Cutter and a Reserve of Iron Ore nearby.
- Key Action: Mine the infinite Iron Vein, process the iron immediately at the Stone Cutter into Iron Bars, and then use the Anvil at your house to make Complex Iron Parts.
- Tip: Build multiple Furnaces and upgrade them to Furnace II using Complex Iron Parts and Pigskin Paper (made from pig skin). This is essential for glass and later steel production.
- Making the Advanced Flasks
- Materials: Sand (found near the river/waterfall, north of the church) + Water (from the well).
- Construction: Use your Furnace II to make Glass. Then, use the Glassblower II to turn the Glass into Conical Flasks, and finally, into Advanced Conical Flasks.
- Building the Alchemy Setup
- Location: Church Cellar (next to the Study Table).
- Construction: Build the Hand Mixer and the Alchemy Workbench using the Advanced Conical Flasks.
- Crafting the Spice (Remedy)
- Step 1 – Study: Use the Study Table to study any vegetable (Carrot, Cabbage, or Heal Cap) to learn its Fluid type (requires 1 Faith and 1 Science).
- Step 2 – Grind: Use the studied vegetable in the Pestle to get the Solution of Life (Life Fluid).
- Step 3 – Combine: Use the Alchemy Workbench to combine Solution of Life + Salt (collected from cremation) to craft the Spices.
Phase 3: The Intertwined Quests
- The Charmer’s Royal Show
- The Perfume: The Charmer sends you to get perfume from the Flower (Mill Owner’s wife). The Flower agrees but needs help.
- The Frogs: The Flower requires you to deliver food to her sister, the Witch (in the Swamp), and bring back 12 Frogs.
- Tip: You can buy 10 Frogs from the Witch for 5 copper each, then fish for the remaining 2 in the Swamp (100% chance with Simple Rod + Moth/Butterfly bait).
- The Story: Give the Charmer a Gold Story (one of the books you started with).
- Alissa: The Charmer asks you to convince the Farmer to let his mute daughter, Alissa, join her royal show.
- The Mill Repair: The Farmer agrees, but only if you help his Uncle (the Miller) fix the broken mill.
- The Miller’s Problem: The Miller is blocked by complex calculations in a Latin manual, requiring help from the Astrologer. (Full circle!)
- Bishop’s Public Kitchen
- New Quest: The Bishop needs 20 Clay Pots to open a public kitchen.
- Action: Find the Clay Deposit (right in front of the church entrance) and build a Potter’s Wheel to craft the pots (Clay + Water).
- Milestone: Deliver the pots to the Bishop on the next White Day. He gives you the Beginner Cleric Guide (Blue Points) and the quest to build a Large Church.
- The Rat’s Grand Ritual
- Action: Deliver the Necronomicon to the Rat.
- New Quest (Decoration): The Rat requires immense decorations for his new underground temple before he will give you the Infinite Notebook. This includes 20+ Skulls (used to make Skull Piles/Crucified Skeletons), Pots, Pumpkins, and other rare items.
Useful Tips
- Save Before Sermons: I failed a 90% success rate sermon! Always save the game before a sermon to avoid losing a week’s Faith/Prayer income.
- Quarry XP: Place a Stone Cutter and Iron Reserve near the iron ore deposit at the quarry. You can process raw ore into Iron Bars right there to generate Red Points easily and avoid exhausting your energy carrying heavy materials back home.
- Keep Your Rods: Do not sell your Simple Fishing Rod! Higher-quality rods prevent you from catching certain lower-tier items, like the Frogs needed for this quest.
- Glass Production: Glass takes a long time to smelt. Dedicate all your Furnaces (now upgraded to Furnace II) to producing Glass and Conical Flasks in batches to save time.
What Comes Next in Part 7
You have all the required items to progress the central main quest lines. In Part 7, we will focus on:
- Delivering the Spices to the Merchant to get his first Royal Service Seal.
- Starting the Vine quest line to satisfy the Inquisitor (which, in turn, allows us to free the Gypsy’s captive and continue the Astrologer’s main quest).
- Addressing the Rat’s demanding decoration list.
- Using the new sermon techniques to start accumulating resources for the Large Church upgrade.
