Step-by-Step
Enough chatting, let’s get down to business (and corpses!).
Phase 1: Opening the Cemetery (Quality 5)
- The first goal is to reach Cemetery Quality 5 so the Bishop appears on the Purple Day and unlocks the church.
- Emergency Repairs: Use the starter wood and stone repair kits the game gave you to fix damaged gravestones and fences, prioritizing those with 3+ white skulls.
- Warning: do not waste resources making new repair kits; they are not worth the effort. Only use the ones you were gifted!
- Technology: Unlock the Simple Stone Gravestone technology (costs 10 Red and 5 Green points).
- Construction: Build the Stone Cutter and use the infinite stone source you already opened up on the map.
- Place Gravestones: Craft the Simple Stone Gravestones and install them on the best-quality corpses (4+ white skulls).
- Check-point: Once the Cemetery Quality hits 5, you are ready for the Bishop!
Phase 2: Food Production and Optimization
- While waiting for the Purple Day, you need to manage your energy and inventory.
- Fertilize! Your first ready farm item is Peat (Turfa). Start using Peat on all your crops. It speeds up growth, increases yield, and gives you a chance to get Bronze-Star crops (important for future quests).
- Strategic Chests: Build and place Farm Storage Chests (Baús) near the farming area. Remember the mechanic: Chests placed in a work area grant remote access to resources. Your crafting stations can pull materials from the chest without you carrying them!
- Make Bread (Your New Best Friend):
- Water: Go to the Well, collect Clean Water Buckets, and then use the bucket item in your inventory to turn it into the Water resource.
- Dough: Use the Cooking Table (Mesa de Cozinha) and combine Wheat + Water to make Dough (Massa).
- Bread: Place the Dough in the Oven (Fornalha) and use Firewood (or another fuel) to bake it.
- Important: Bread is your most reliable food source for regenerating Energy at this stage of the game.
Phase 3: The Church and Blue Points (Science)
- The Purple Day arrives! The Bishop shows up, and you open the church.
- The Sermon: Watch the cutscene with the Bishop and perform your first Sermon at the pulpit.
- Milestone: This grants you your first Faith points, a crucial currency for the game. Remember to do this every Purple Day to farm Faith.
- The Secret Cellar: Clean up the mess in the Church Cellar and find the Study Table. This is the key to success!
- Generate Science: The Study Table is used to decompose written items (like the notes the game gave you) into Science Points. You need these points!
- The Blue Point Secret:
- Go to the Study Table.
- Place an item from the Morgue (Blood, Fat, Organs, etc.).
- If the item has the tag “Study incomplete – Blue point”, you can analyze it by spending 1 Faith and 1 Science.
- Milestone: This finally grants you the precious Blue Points! They are the rarest and most essential currency for advanced technologies. Spend them wisely!.
Phase 4: Cremation and Anatomy
- Now that you have Blue Points, we can improve the handling of bad corpses.
- Anatomy: Unlock the Anatomy technology (in the Anatomy and Alchemy tab) to be able to remove the Brain, Intestines, and Heart. This gives you more resources for studying (more Blue Points!).
- Cremation: Unlock the Cremaation technology (in the Theology tab).
- Build the Crematorium: Construct the Place for Cremating Corpses.
- Anti-River Strategy: If you receive a corpse with many red skulls:
- Remove ALL organs and resources (Blood, Fat, Brain, Heart, etc.).
- Place the remaining carcass in the Crematorium and use Firewood as fuel.
- Important Decision: Cremation grants you a Burial Certificate, Salt, and Ash, which is infinitely better than throwing the corpse in the river for nothing.
Phase 5: The Donkey’s Strike and the Merchant
- The Donkey is tired of exploitation and has gone on strike. Prepare to pay!
- Payment 1 (Carrots): The Donkey demands 10 Carrots in the box next to the cart.
- Payment 2 (Oil): The Donkey demands you lubricate the wheels with Oil.
- How to get Oil: Buy Oil from the Loner/Old Man who is on the road to the Lighthouse, during the day.
- Milestone: After paying and lubricating, the Donkey returns to work, but will now charge 5 Carrots for every new corpse. Keep the box stocked!
- Loner Side Quest: While buying the Oil, the Old Man will ask you for 5 Honey to teach you how to make Cake (one of the best recipes in the game!). Honey can be found in the forest near the quarry.
Useful Tips
- Sell Regularly: Sell your Burial Certificates frequently to the Innkeeper. Don’t hoard them, as NPCs have a money cap, and selling too much too fast causes prices to drop!
- Tool Upgrade: Use your first Blue Points to unlock the Tools line (level 2). They last longer and will speed up mining and woodcutting.
- Farming Honey: Honey is easy to farm in the forest area outside your farm, near the infinite Stone Quarry. It’s a vital energy item and used in several quests.
What Comes Next in Part 4
Now that we have Blue Points and Faith, the game really starts to gain depth. In Part 4, the focus will be on:
- Alchemy Advancement: Starting to use the extracted organs and the Alchemy Workbench to produce potions.
- Church Improvement: Using Faith to improve the church’s decor (candles, incense, etc.) and raise the quality of your Sermons.
- NPC Quests: Continuing missions with the Merchant (who will ask you for a Merchant License) and the Loner (making the cake)
